Real Estate Database Profile
Courtland maintains and continues to develop comprehensive real estate investment management databases which track investment returns, advisor capabilities and other real estate/capital markets information. Our advisory services database currently generates quarterly information requests to more than 300 managers and contains detailed information on more than 150 real estate advisors and real estate securities firms, and their products. That database provides a tool for conducting investment manager searches and evaluations, and for identifying new investment opportunities and programs.
Our Current Offerings database contains product information on over 50 pooled fund and co-investment vehicles. Relatedly, our Current Funds database contains information on approximately 100 other existing real estate vehicles. These advisor product databases are supplemented as often as information is received or becomes available.
Our database information, though extensive, is organized in a manner particularly conducive to portfolio construction and search activity:
Advisory Services: In-depth information on more than 85 advisory firms, maintained both in hard copy materials provided by the firms and in a Paradox platform with data received through the Courtland Real Estate Data Questionnaire.
Real Estate Products: Equity investment libraries organized by the four major property types and alternative categories, including hotel, net lease, developmental land, public storage, affordable housing, single family housing, farmland, timberland and international investment opportunities. Debt investment libraries organized by commercial mortgage (whole loan) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (ACMBS@) categories.
Investment Research: Research materials relating to areas affecting real estate and portfolio performance. Please refer to the Courtland Real Estate Investment Research profile for additional details.
Regional Data: Market demographics, econometrics and property type research organized by city, county and region.
Current Funds Current and historical profiles and performance data, maintained both in hard copy and Paradox, on open- and closed-end funds presently managed by institutional real estate advisors.
Current Offerings: New fund and co-investment opportunities, across all product types, which currently are available for investment; includes research/profiles on publicly-traded real estate companies.
Through these databases we can customize investment manager searches by selecting appropriate search fields such as investment strategy and philosophy, and investment focus in terms of property type, location, life cycle, size, transaction structure and other investment attributes. We do not categorize managers by style, per se, in the database, but do track their property type specialties and product risk profiles (i.e., core, value-added, opportunistic). That permits us to screen managers by investment category. Though a manager, by virtue of its products, may fall into more than one category, we track product (investment strategy) performance in order to assess the manager's relative strength in a particular category. Courtland's databases are compiled entirely within the firm and are considered proprietary. We do not purchase data or information from any third-party sources. We neither seek nor receive any compensation, direct or indirect, from managers to be included in the databases, and we do not receive remuneration of any kind from managers generally.
